Manor House refurbishment

Following an escape of water from a burst pipe two years ago the 100 year old house is now riddled with dry rot. Working alongside Peter cox, Gwynedd Builders have been called in to treat, remove and reinstate all affected areas.

During the first rip out stage chrysotile asbestos was discovered. HSE were immediately informed and an asbestos analyst was brought in along with an asbestos removal team. Gwynedd Builders had to await confirmation that it was safe for our work force to continue. We are currently in the process of the extensive refurbishment.

New build residential dwelling, Penrhyndeudraeth

Gwynedd Builders have recently broken ground on a plot of land in Penrhyndeudraeth, near Porthmadog.

Repair of storm and flood damage to a holiday complex, Barmouth

A holiday complex set up on a steep slope comprising of a four bedroom farmhouse, two bedroom bungalow, three bedroom converted barn, two one bedroom flats, static caravan and a double width car port have all suffered storm and flood damage.

A claim was made by the present owner to her insurance company which agreed to cover the claim. The contract was put out to a competitive tender which Gwynedd Builders won.

Working alongside architects, structural engineers, surveyors and loss assessors work began in November 2011.

The car port has been demolished and re built, a defective retaining wall has been demolished and rebuilt, the farmhouse roof has been partly removed and replaced along with a full re wire and the repair/replacement of all damaged internal fixtures and fittings.

The site was closed down in July to allow the owner to continue to trade during the summer holidays, the work is set to re start in October 12.

Extension and Renovation of a two bedroom dorma bungalow

A kitchen extension to a two bed dormer bungalow with full renovation consisting of new electrics, plumbing, bathroom & kitchen. Internal re-configuration removing a load bearing wall to increase room size and external works to chimney and creating patio area

External rendering and re-surfacing of drive, Porthmadog

We have re rendered a three bedroom semi – detached house using Wetherby building solutions silicon based render which can be applied over existing finishes and surfaces. Unlike many traditional rending materials this product enables us to offer guarantees in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines.

A re render of this size would usually last up to three weeks in duration, however due to the extremely wet summer we had had, the work had to be stop started over a period of around nine weeks but has now been completed.

At the same property we have also re surfaced the existing tarmacadam driveway.
